I recently returned home from an incredible conference, Engage!11, where the who’s who of the wedding industry gather to share inspiration and be inspired. The geniuses behind Engage are two impressive women, Kathryn Arce and Rebecca Grinnals of Engaging Concepts.
This year’s conference was at the Grande Del Mar which is a beautiful hotel that prides itself with providing genuine and pristine hospitality – and throughout my stay, I experienced just that. A few Red Balloon friends and clients were also in attendance such as Styled Creative, Melissa Paul, and Two Paperdolls. All photos courtesy of the amazing Mel & Co unless otherwise noted.
Abby Larson is the brilliant mind behind the wedding blog giant, Style Me Pretty.
Some beautiful detail shots of the conference:
Love love love the floral arrangements from the welcome party by my new friend Eddie at Tic-tock Couture Florals.
Don’t these strawberries look yum? I was too busy inhaling strawberry jelly squares and did not get to try one. Deep regret.
One of the highlights of the conference for me was getting to sit in on an interview with Brides Magazine Editor in Chief, Millie Bratten and Monique L’Huillier. This beautiful floral dress was designed by Karen Tran and was called ‘The Monique’.
The closing gala was designed and planned by superstar Mindy Weiss.
I had the great pleasure of having dinner with Mindy and several other star folks in the industry in the most breathtaking and incredible location, Cal-a-Vie Relais & Chateaux. I LOVE the Relais & Chateaux group and the experience at Cal-a-Vie truly embodies the brand’s motto, “All around the World, Unique in the World”. We were treated to a one-of-a-kind dining experience, complete with amazing wine pairings from Vineagogo, and a food-network-style cooking lesson from Chef Jason Graham.
Here are some photos from the Cal-a-Vie trip, compliments of the very talented Aaron of True Photography Weddings.
We arrived just as the sun was setting and were given a tour of the property including this amazing 400 year old chapel brought from Dijon, France.
It’s been a few weeks since Engage and my head is still spinning with inspiration. Can’t wait until next year!
