Red Balloon PR Winter Round-Up

Hello! It has been a while since we have posted on the blog, but it is only because we have been so busy with some amazing new clients! So to catch you all up, we are giving you a brief winter round-up on what we have been up to for the past several months.

Brown Betty:

We are thrilled to announce that the women behind the fabulously delicious Brown Betty Dessert Boutique (now with 2 locations and newly available in many cafes and food outlets on the UPenn campus) have released a cookbook! Now you can make these amazing desserts from the comfort of your home. The book can be purchased on Amazon.

The book, recipes, and authors Norrinda Brown Hayat and Linda Hinton Brown appeared in the pages of the Philadelphia Inquirer, The Daily News, Oh Joy!, Poppytalk, Philadelphia Style Magazine, Young House LoveFood & Wine Magazine (twice!), Martha Stewart Weddings, The Katie Couric Show, and more! Red Balloon PR was busy coordinating local and national press, television appearances, a blog tour, book signings, and a book tour.  The cookbook has been a huge hit – get yours today, they are selling like hotcakes! And check out the three generations of amazing women behind the bakery and cookbook on The Katie Show here:

Dollface Studios:

The ladies behind the sexy boudoir photo studio, Dollface Studios, know just how to make any woman feel comfortable and confident as they help prep for some seriously sexy photo shoots.  Just ask Editor Carrie Denny at Philadelphia Magazine who dishes on her Dollface Studio Boudoir experience here. This past winter, Red Balloon worked with Dollface on a gorgeous promo shoot at Revel Casino & Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ featuring Royal Jelly Night Club, Jenna Leigh Lingerie and Rodrigo Otazu jewelry. We also conceptualized and planned a few special pop-up  shoots around the city in architecturally inspiring spaces.

hollow & ridge:

hollow & ridge is simply beautiful and organic luxury pressed into the most divine scents. Crafted in small batches, the three essential oil blends created by Issa Dixon are some of the best things we have ever smelled. Ever. Using only the highest quality and responsibly grown plant materials available, Issa creates one-of-a-kind blends out of her home in Narberth, PA! This intoxicating product is available online in three custom blends, beautifully bottled in jewel toned colored glass, which are a nod to the sea glass Issa found on a recent trip to the Amalfi coast . Get yours today and look out for hollow & ridge on Daily Candy soon!

La Petite Peach:

We were so excited to work with the incredibly talented Desiree Spinner, event planner extraordinaire, and the founder of the chicest mommy blog around, La Petite Peach. On November 8, 2012, the new site launched and it has gained a mass following and garnered the attention of the likes of Lucky Magazine. Check it out today!

Terrain:

We were thrilled to begin working with the garden cafes at both Terrain locations (Glen Mills, PA and Westport, CT) because, well, the food is just simply amazing and the environment is nothing short of magical! The Garden Cafe at Terrain offers a farm-to-table approach and an elegantly refined, non-fussy preparation of fresh, seasonal ingredients! In February, we hosted an exclusive media dinner at the Glen Mills location. Guests were transported to Glen Mills in Land Rovers and Range Rovers from Land Rover Main Line, greeted with cocktails in the Mushroom Hut, treated to a sophisticated yet rustic 5-course dining experience in The Greenhouse, and sent home with burlap bags filled with freshly baked donuts, local cheese from Doe Run Farm, and a few additional special surprises.

Fête de la Musique – Thursday, June 21st

Fête de la Musique is a fantastic French holiday which, in my opinion, ought to be adapted in America with more frequency. It is a festival of music which marks the beginning of Summer.

The Sofitel Philadelphia is pulling out all the stops for this year’s celebration and you are invited!. If FREE crepes and the musical stylings of Edith Piaf by The Bearded Ladies Cabaret aren’t enough to make you dance, what will?

A bit of history for you: the idea for this holiday was actually first broached in 1976 by American musician Joel Cohen, who was then employed by the national French radio station, France Musique. Cohen proposed an all-night music celebration at the moment of the summer solstice. The idea was taken up by French Music and Dance director Maurice Fleuret for Minister of Culture, Jack Lang in 1981 and first took place in 1982 in Paris.

Granted, because the French tend to take long vacations over the summer, (read: take the entire summer off), they have more to celebrate at the start of the season. But it still couldn’t hurt for us to dedicate a warm June afternoon to dancing, music, and delicious food, right?
